The brief

An en-suite from the 1980s with a bath nobody used and pink tiles. Removing the bath made room for a generous shower and a vanity with drawers. Microcement on the dry walls kept the grout lines to a minimum and made the small room feel calm.

Scope of work

  • Bath removed and replaced with a 1.4 m walk-in shower with linear drain
  • Large-format porcelain tiles on floor and wet wall, microcement on the others
  • Wall-hung vanity with a stone basin and a backlit mirror
  • New plumbing for the shower, concealed cistern and heated towel rail
  • Extractor fan ducted to the outside

Materials

  • 600 x 1200 porcelain tiles, matte stone finish
  • Microcement in warm grey
  • Oak-veneer wall-hung vanity
  • Brushed nickel fittings
