Interior design and finishing in Lavington

Nairobi County. Lavington mixes older stand-alone houses from the 1970s and 80s with newer townhouse compounds along James Gichuru and Gitanga Road. [AREA TO BE CONFIRMED BY CLIENT]

Lavington mixes older stand-alone houses from the 1970s and 80s with newer townhouse compounds along James Gichuru and Gitanga Road. The two call for different work. The older houses have generous rooms, high ceilings and terrazzo or parquet floors, but closed kitchens, small bathrooms and wiring that needs replacing. Townhouses are newer but often finished by the developer to a budget, with thin paint, basic kitchens and no ceiling detail.

Our Lavington projects are mostly whole-house or whole-floor renovations: opening kitchens into dining rooms, converting a fourth bedroom into a master en-suite, replacing parquet that has lifted, and repainting inside and out. Several of these houses are now used as offices, clinics or studios, which means partitioning and reception areas as well as domestic work.

Because many Lavington compounds are gated, we provide a list of our team members to the security office at the start of each project and keep the same crew throughout. Deliveries of cabinets, flooring and furniture are scheduled for weekday mornings to avoid the school run on Gitanga Road.
