FAQ
Questions clients ask before they book
Quoting, timelines, payments, warranties and how we work in occupied homes and apartments. If your question is not here, WhatsApp us and we will answer it directly.
How does quoting work?
Send us photos and a short description through the quote form or WhatsApp. For small jobs such as curtains, blinds or a single room's paint we can quote from photos and measurements. For kitchens, bathrooms, ceilings and renovations we visit the property, measure, and send an itemised quote listing materials, labour and timelines. We reply to every request within one working day.
Is the site visit free?
A phone or WhatsApp consultation is free. Site visits within Nairobi are free when they lead to a quote. For design-only work and for visits outside Nairobi we charge a visit fee that is deducted from the project if you go ahead. [CLIENT TO CONFIRM]
How long do projects take?
Curtains and blinds: 7 to 10 days. Painting an apartment: 2 to 6 days. A fitted kitchen: 3 to 6 weeks including workshop fabrication. A bathroom: about 2 weeks. A whole-apartment renovation: 4 to 8 weeks. A full house: 8 to 16 weeks. Your quote states the dates for your job.
Do you supply furniture, or only design?
Both. We source ready-made furniture from Nairobi suppliers and make custom pieces such as wardrobes, TV units, beds and shelving in our workshop. You can also take our design and shopping list and buy items yourself.
How are deposits and payments staged?
For most projects: a deposit on signing to order materials, one or two progress payments tied to agreed milestones, and a final payment after snagging. Typical stages are 40 / 30 / 25 / 5 percent. Payment is by bank transfer or M-Pesa, and every stage is written into the contract. [CLIENT TO CONFIRM STAGES AND PAYMENT DETAILS]
Is there a warranty?
Twelve months on workmanship for installations, carpentry, ceilings and painting. Materials and fittings carry their manufacturers' warranties, and we help you claim if something fails. [CLIENT TO CONFIRM]
Can you work with my own architect or interior designer?
Yes. We regularly implement drawings from other designers and architects, and we join site meetings with them. If you have drawings, send them with your quote request and we will price from them.
Which areas do you cover?
We are based in Nairobi and work across the city and its surroundings, including Kilimani, Lavington, Westlands, Karen, Runda, Kileleshwa, Syokimau and Ruaka. For locations further out, message us on WhatsApp with the location and we will confirm and quote travel if any. [AREAS TO BE CONFIRMED BY CLIENT]
Can you work while we are living in the house?
For painting, décor, curtains, ceilings in one or two rooms, and most furniture work, yes. We work room by room and clean up daily. For full renovations we recommend moving out during the demolition and wet-trade phase, usually two to four weeks.
I live outside Kenya. Can you manage a project for me?
Yes. We agree the scope and quote by email and WhatsApp, send weekly photo and video reports, hold video walkthroughs at each stage, and tie payments to verified progress. We can also hand over to your letting agent or family member.
I am a tenant. What can you do without my landlord's permission?
Paint (restored at the end of the lease if required), removable wallpaper, curtains and blinds, rugs, plug-in lighting, freestanding furniture and custom pieces that are not fixed to walls. Anything involving tiles, plumbing or built-in carpentry needs the landlord's written agreement, and we can help you ask.
What do you need from me to get started?
Photos of the space, rough sizes or the number of rooms, your location, what you want to change, and a budget range if you have one. A floor plan helps but is not required. The quote form takes about three minutes.
Do you do exterior work?
We paint exteriors, boundary walls and gates, and finish verandas and balconies with ceilings, flooring and furniture. [CLIENT TO CONFIRM FULL EXTERIOR SCOPE: paving, fencing, façade cladding, landscaping]
Still unsure? Send your question on WhatsApp or ask for a consultation; there is no charge for either.
